Even with the screen size of the iPad, selecting text that you’ve typed can be a little cumbersome. It’s hard to see what you’ve selected when your finger is over the top of it. That’s where SlideWriter comes in. It’s a clever little app that turns the top of your keyboard into a useful selection tool.

Rather than trying to select individual words with your clumsy fingers, SlideWriter’s bar lets you move the cursor around, with a double tap selecting the words you’ve moved to. It’s a deceptively simple idea, but one that could well come in incredibly handy if you spend a lot of time writing on your tablet.

Developed by Studio Tentpole, the app is available to purchase from the App Store right now for a knock down price of 69p/99c. If you like making your life a bit easier, you can follow the download link to pick up a copy, or if you’re undecided, check out the video and make up your mind.
