Mobile game developer Interface3, and Ko Lik films, have announced that they’re collaborating on an interactive storybook series for the iPad, titled Not Lost In The Universe, which should be out by the end of the year.

With the support of Creative Scotland, the app is set to be the first in a line of educational products created by the two companies, teaching children about science and technology through their iPads.

“Not Lost in the Universe is an exciting project which sits at the forefront of cross-platform storytelling,” said Jess Connell, writer at Ko Lik in a press release. “Working with Interface3 we are able to combine award-winning game design and development with award-winning writing and animation.”

Kate Ho, Managing Director of Interface3 added: “Very few companies achieve the right balance of education and entertainment. Our hope is that with the Not Lost project, we can use our knowledge and creative talents to produce the next-generation education storybook app.”

Aimed at 4 to 7 year olds, the first book in the series should be arriving from the black depths of space around November time.
