Thanks to an update released over the weekend, Asus’s Transformer Pad TF300 has become only the second tablet, alongside the incredibly popular Google branded Nexus 7, to run the latest version of Android, 4.1 Jelly Bean.
It’s no surprise to see Asus rolling out the Jelly Bean updates ahead of its competitors, especially when you consider that the Nexus 7 is an Asus tablet wrapped up in Google branding, but what is a little odd is that the first device to receive the update is a middle of the range tablet that’s already been superseded.
Still, the update appears to be running fine on the lower level machine, which should mean the Transformer Prime and the Transformer Infinity will be receiving their own pushes up to Jelly Bean in the not too distant future.
The update can be performed easily over the air, so if you’re the owner of a TF300, you should be able to get a taste of Google’s latest sweet treat right now.
