We’ve been waiting forever for the new Wintersun record, and now we’re FINALLY getting it this year. A lot of people shrugged the news off, saying “I’ll believe it when I see it.” Why so many are holding onto a joke, I don’t know, but people need to get over it and finally let their guard down. It’s coming, and the details are rolling in.
This time in the Wintersun press hype train (CHOO-CHOO! ALL ABOARD!), the artwork for the album’s first half Time I has been unveiled. The artwork was provided by Cameron Grey, whom you may recognize as the artist behind artwork for Born of Osiris, Dead Letter Circus, and others. It’s definitely his trademark style (trees, some dude, cool colors), and it’s good to see that he’s getting work in bands who aren’t related or similar to the artists on Sumerian Records. This has also been like, what, the third cover art that’s been attached to this project? Well at least they’ve settled on one, and this one likely captures the epic nature of Time. Let’s hope it holds up!
Time I is due out October 23rd on Nuclear Blast Records.
