The Wikipad is starting to sound more and more interesting by the second, and now the world’s first tablet with a detachable controller has announced a deal that’s likely to make it even more enticing. From launch, the Wikipad is going to be PlayStation certified.

That means the pad should play host to PlayStation Mobile, Sony’s ever improving and increasing suite of games available to play on certified mobile devices. After looking like it was going to miss out on Gaikai content because of the cloud service’s deal with Sony, it now appears Wikipad has snared an even more impressive partner.

“Wikipad is the first true video game tablet built with an attachable gamepad controller that enables a mobile console experience. As we head into our upcoming launch we are partnering with the industry’s leading players. PlayStation’s commitment to delivering innovative entertainment experiences that captivate gamers is unparalleled and we are thrilled to partner with them,” said James Bower, chief executive officer of Wikipad in a press release.

It sounds like there could be more partners in the works, and if that’s the case, and the price is right, the Wikipad could well be turning into a very enticing prospect. We revealed the specs for the tablet a couple of weeks ago, so all that remains to be seen is how much the Wikipad will cost, and when it’ll actually come out.

Rest assured, as soon as we find out, we’ll let you know.
